Before I read that book, I bought into the Hollywood version of what it took to be successful in business. So I tried to be as much of a ruthless dick as possible. That book was such a big influence that when I was done reading it, I went to Dale Carnegie & Associate's office and offered to work for free just so I could soak up more of the Carnegie influence.
